Patient Participation Group

The Station View Patient Participation Group has been formally established with the support of the practice for about three years. You would be very welcome to attend meetings of the Group and even to consider standing for office on its Committee. Volunteers are needed to take over from the current officers when they step down.

If you would like to find out more about the role and purpose of the Patient Participation Group and what is entailed by becoming involved in its activities, then please click here to complete the form.

Letter from Frances Knight and Katherine Brown:

By way of introduction, we are Frances Knight and Katherine Brown, the new Co-Chairs for Station View Health Centre's Patient Participation Group (PPG).

We were both active members whilst Malcolm was Chair and are looking forward to continuing working with patients and our surgery.

As a little background;

Frances has been a part of the PPG for many years and is a retired former teacher and also an ordained priest in the Church of England. She and her family have been with Station View Practice for many years and is keen to see Station View Practice offer the best service possible. She envisages that by being a support of the practice, working with them to deliver this, and also working with the PPG Locality Group and the West Leicestershire Care Quality Commission (CQC) PPG network group. She attends these additional meetings as much as she is able to keep the PPG of Station View Practice up to date with what is happening in West Leicestershire.

Katherine is Director of Beauty and Utility Arts, an Arts, Heritage and Health social enterprise working on projects with older community members across the East Midlands.

Moving forwards we propose holding two public meetings with speakers per year around topics of interest and two meetings with a core group of PPG representatives working more deeply on key areas, to be determined by the group. This compliments the approach championed by the wider PPG network.

We are therefore looking for up to 10 additional community members to join us and welcome expressions of interest for a first meeting in January. If you would like to be involved, please send an email to chair.stationviewppg@gmail.com with the subject line 'PPG Expression of Interest with the following information by 9th December:

  • name
  • a little something about you
  • why you would like to join the PPG working group
  • what skills, experience, enthusiasm and interests you can offer

One of our core pieces of ongoing work will be to share information relevant to you as surgery patients, so please find attached:

  • minutes from the latest PPG Locality Meeting
  • details about the new patient transport service provider
  • notes from the recent West Leicestershire CQC PPG network meeting

If you would like to sign up to our bi monthly e-newsletter and remain part of the PPG then please reply to this email and we will ensure that you receive all our notifications.

Many thanks

Katherine Brown and Frances Knight
